VINYL EXPERIENCE
An endless passion for music, for discovery, for people and for life
Lenny Mac Dowell’s music career began in 1978 with his album Flute Power, when he recorded a Rock Version of Jethro Tull’s Locomotive Breath. With this instrumental version, he reached for some weeks a successful direct entry in the charts. His breakthrough came with the album Magic Flute, produced in 1983 as the first rock-instantaneous disk ever (Direct to Disc on Vinyl). The music magazines „Audio“ and „Stereo Play“ titled Lenny Mac Dowell as „Rock flutist number one in Germany“. Than Lenny Mac Dowell startet countless tours with musicians as Manni von Bohr, Horst Stachelhaus (Birth Control), Peter Oehler, Mike Herting, Bodo Schopf (Michael Schenker Group) or Zeus B. Held (Guru Guru), Clemens Winterhalter, Alex Grünwald and repeated major productions with musicians such as Pete York (Spencer Davis Group) and Wolfgang Schmid (Passport).
An era of musical experimentation continued under his own production. After Flying Torso he follows with Balance of Power, which went more into the esoteric realms – finest meditation music with ambient elements. The album The Farthest Shore also reflected the more meditative and esoteric sounds. In 1987 Lenny Mac Dowell released Autumn Breath or Landscapes (2015) in a collaborative project with Christoph Spendel and during the 90’s until today, he released The Lost Paradise, Echnatons Return, Launch Control, Get Ready, Retrospective, Lenny goes India, Look of Love and Raja Yoga productions under his own flag.
